I learned that one must do their part in their profession to take initiative so that the quality of life of the patient improves.
I learned that health care is multidisciplinary. If we want to benefit patients from all aspects, it is important that all disciples work together & in the same direction. Health care is a large umbrella and all providers share a common motive, which is to improve patient outcomes.
All health care providers, if working as a team, will come with a better and efficient treatment plan to treat the overall condition a patient has. Each provider has a role that other providers might not be aware of.
It has given me a lesson on what to do and what not to do once I enter the medical field. IPE has personally expanded my perspective on the medical and health field.
IPER Fellows will work with faculty across campuses to advance a university-wide model, based on the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) initiative, to build a sustainable system-wide faculty development and IPER integration model for CUNY health-related programs and community partners.
